YouTube Strategies for Business

What are you doing today that is better and different to your competitors? How do you find and attract new clients?

If you are not doing anything that differentiates you from the competition, you could be losing out on a huge amount of potential business.

One of the easiest methods to differentiate your company is to embrace technology and social media. It is easy and can save you time, money and headaches.

One of my favorite social media sites is YouTube and here are some tips, strategies and ideas that can help your business immediately:

·         Have your own YouTube Channel and base the channel name on keywords e.g. Health and Fitness London – IT Security New York

·         Make sure the sound on your videos is clear and mixed and edited well so users can clearly hear it.

·         Create well thought out, professional style videos that are edited properly.

·         Keep your content funny, engaging, and informative so that it will keep viewers watching until the end of the video.

·         Embed your logo and website into the video.

·         Keep the resolution of the video as high as possible

·         Be yourself. Don’t lose sight of the purpose and mission of the video. Think of yourself speaking to a friend in a pub or coffee shop and use the same tone and expressions.

·         Practice before posting the final video. Do a few dry runs before taping and publishing and remember if you are boring, the video will be boring to viewers.

·         Do more than just talk. People don’t want to sit and watch a person just talking to the camera. Make it exciting and interesting as well as fun.

·         Limit your video length to two minutes maximum, most viewers lose interest after this. Look at any movie, the scenes change around every minute.

·         Use the ‘problem, solution and action’ method of filming. An example would be ‘Have you been trying diets and still can’t move that fat (problem) – here are 3 exercises to help you right now (solution) and sign up for our free newsletter or call us to find out about our gym membership (solution)’

·         At the end of each video, ask your viewers to ‘like’ the video and comment, this helps with your rankings.

·         If you are going to use music, use copyright free music’

·         Grab viewers by integrating important keywords into the title. This will help to boost the search engine results.

·         Use keywords in the tags that will lead potential clients to your videos and make the first line of your description is your website address as that is what viewers will see immediately below the video.

·         Choose the most relevant category

·         Make the videos go viral and spread them to as many websites as possible. Once you have uploaded the video, click on the ‘share’ button and then share the video with Twitter, Facebook your Blog and any other social media sites that your business uses.

Remember to use the videos in different ways
·         Videos on the website
·         Meet the team
·         Video testimonials
·         Staff training
·         Expert advice
·         Tip of the week

How to use YouTube for Search Engine Optimization

I have been using video for the past 10 years for marketing and it far outperforms any other social medium that I use.

I have an 18 point plan in creating videos which I share on my Video & YouTube Marketing course - www.videoandyoutubemarketing.com and I want to share some of the strategies in this article.

Once my video has been created, I have found the best results happen when I use my formula COPE – Create Once Share Everywhere.

1 – the first place I upload my video is to YouTube. I have over 700 videos, 4 million views and 7,000 subscribers on my channel www.youtube.com/salestips

In the past I was able to generate hundreds of thousands of views with each video, but this has now substantially decreased since there is so much video uploaded every minute.

YouTube is still always the first place I upload my video and the main reason is for Search Engine Optimization.

Google owns YouTube and if you know how to use the right keywords and where, there is a good chance you could get onto the first page of a Google search via YouTube.

Wherever you are in the world, please type in the phrase ‘sales technology speaker’ into a Google search and chances are that I will dominate that search term. You will also notice that the first thing that comes up after the paid ads are some of my YouTube videos.

I have no idea which videos will appear as there are different videos each week. My strategy is to make at least one new video each week and have the keywords in the right places. The first place I put the phrase is in the title or headline of the video.

Go to Creator Studio, Video manager and find the video you need to optimize. Click on the edit button as shown on the picture below.

Go to the title or headline and put in the name of your video, a space, a pipe (|) and your search term phrase.

Next go to the description and in the very first line put in the link to your website or landing page.

Next make your description as comprehensive as possible and add links and your key search phrase.
Thirdly add as many tags as are relevant and always include the same search phrase as above.

Next ensure you have an eye catching thumbnail and my favourite software tool I use almost daily is Graphics creator - https://techtips--laughingbirdsoftware.thrivecart.com/the-graphics-creator7-bundle/

Please ensure that you add the video to your playlists and you have the correct category.

2 – the second place I upload my video is to LinkedIn.

I am getting ten times more views on LinkedIn than on Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo combined. Right now it is the best place on the planet for business marketing.

3 – Upload to Facebook using the native video ie upload the original video from your computer or phone to Facebook, never use a link.

4 – Upload the video to Vimeo and the other video sites and share these links on all your social media channels.

Take a look at the video I have created to explain everything in the article.

How to use Video to build your brand & increase sales | Sales & Marketing Speaker | Frank Furness

Video has to be one of the best ways to increase exposure and build your brand, especially using the power of YouTube.

  • The latest research shows that:
  • Content with visuals get 94% more views
  • Visual content is 40 times more likely to be shared on social media network
  • The average person reads only 20% of text on webpages

I have been involved in video for the past 10 years and uploaded my first video to YouTube when it started. I now have over 600 videos, millions of views and 6,000 subscribers.

Here are some of the things I have learned along the way:

  • Content is king. It is all good and well having funny videos of cats for views, but in a business situation people are looking for good content that is relevant to the
  • Sound quality is really important, if the sound is bad they will stop watching immediately
  • A year ago I would have said that the length of the video should be less than 2 minutes. Latest statistics show the average viewing time is 36 seconds. Saying that, once again it is about the content. I have uploaded webinars that are an hour long and had great success because the content was important and compellin
  • In the first few seconds tell them why they should be watching the video and what they will get from it.
  • Have a call to action at the end of the video with your contact details and a live link to your website. Also tell them to comment, like and share your video as this will help with your views.
  •  Kick start your videos. I normally spend $10 on YouTube AdWords and $25 on Virool Promotion
  • Have a great thumbnail that will catch attention and tell views what the video is about – take a look at http://jvz3.com/c/16130/132567 which will take you to YouTube Graphics creator which I use all the time
  •  Have a great headline for your video. Again I use a tool that can be seen at www.simpleheadlines.com
  • Once you have uploaded your video, remember to promote it through all your social media channels

I will be bringing out more articles on how to use video and YouTube effectively and also take a look at my Masterclass that I am running in venues around the world - http://frankfurness.com/video-a-youtube-masterclass
